About Ahna
Ahna was born and raised in the Netherlands. When she was very young, all she did was sing all day. She started her singing career in local bands. In 2018 she finally released her first single under the name An-C “like a star in the night”. This song was well received by the audience and it earned her a few radio interviews and live performances. After this song she started writing more songs. Her search for the right match in terms of musicians had its way. She eventually came into contact with Ton Snijders (pianist) and Arnold van Dongen (guitarist), who further developed and recorded the singles with her.

Picking up the Pieces
Picking up the pieces of a broken heart. How many times do we all have to deal with a broken heart? But this song gives you back your strength. With the beautiful guitar playing of Arnold van Dongen this song is really a great song to listen to and to dance to... and while singing, listening and dancing with this song, it will make your heart happy again
Mother Earth is calling
This 10 min. soundscape is made with and for mother earth. With deep respect and much love I worked on this magical song. She lets you be carried away by the sounds of singing and guitar to take you deep into mother earth...where she sings, dances and moves for you. You can experience deep relaxation and nurturing while listening to this soundscape. This song came through me during a walk through nature. Since then, nature moves along with this song. Birds appeared spontaneously during the recording, which we discovered later while listening. The soundscape is suitable for meditation, ceremonies, ecstatic dance and for general relaxation.
Strings that can’t be denied
I wrote this song early in the morning. While I was playing my guitar, this melody appeared when I tried some unfamiliar chords. I thought it was such a beautiful melody that the lyrics came to me automatically. The song is small and sensitive. It is about love and freedom. Entanglements that we sometimes get stuck in and want to break out of, because love ultimately requires freedom. Freedom to be who you are.
For old Times
When I saw the despair in someone’s face during a conversation, I wished so much that I could say something to change the despair into hope..
I wrote this song after realizing how nice it would be to receive words from something higher, to whisper comfort, reassurance and hope into your soul, when you have truly lost your faith.
What if your soul could really speak to you… I wondered? What would it say? Once I sat down, this song formed very quickly. The words and the melody came naturally.
I hope it will make everyone, in moments of despair, let the light of hope burn again…
Mama told me
This song really makes me happy. It’s all about being yourself. Doing what feels good for you. Spreading your wings….and fly.

Scratch on the moon
Sometimes we are trapped in our own limiting beliefs, we sacrifice ourselves because we believe we do not deserve more. But actually everything is open to us if we are willing to believe this..and dare to express it. “Scratch on the moon where dreams come true..Time to be alive, ending your sacrifice”
Ave Maria
I have been asked so many times to sing the Ave Maria, on different occasions.
Although I find the different Ave Marias beautiful, this, my own, Ave Maria came out while playing my guitar. Finally beautifully performed on piano by Ton Snijders. I hope that this Ave Maria may touch just as many hearts….
